My Story

Hi, I’m Michelle Russell. I have more than twenty years working in the business community and for government. I’ve also spent a lot of time freelancing as a researcher, writer, and producer. Presently, I live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with my cat family.

Here’s my story!

The first years of my career were spent pursuing jobs in the entertainment industry. Along the way I temped at big New York companies in the fields of television and publishing houses. I also worked for attorneys and investment firms. Eventually, I settled down, working for a union.

During the next decade, I moved to Washington, D.C. where I went to work on Capitol Hill at the U.S. House of Representatives. This gave me a broad view of the country and many new skills, including making financial charts and speaking to constituents.

From there, I moved to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I began as Assistant Manager for the Gift Shops, and moved to the finance office where I paid bills for the Center!

Back in New York City, I temped in various offices at Merrill Lynch. The turmoil following 9/11 led me to a new career as producer/ director of musical recordings and several shows. This was followed by a career as a writer and historical researcher. I was also hired to catalog a huge collection of the Judy Garland Museum and Birthplace in Minnesota.

My career has been filled with lots of adventures and learning. Now, I would like to use experience to help others with their businesses.
